The community has been designed to accommodate a diversity of lifestyle requirements while offering the security and convenience of individualized care. We came to Allisonville in the midst of transition. I didn’t feel the staff really knew a lot about the facility. It was relatively new, but it seemed like a real nursing home, and I didn’t like the feel of it.
My mom was a resident of Allisonville Meadows. The atmosphere is very nice, everything is brightly lit, and the people are always friendly. The staff there was very nice and helpful as could be.

As a resident of Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living, you’ll benefit from a full continuum of senior housing and healthcare options. You’ll enjoy the company of your neighbors and opportunities to participate in a wide range of planned activities, including transportation to shopping and social outings. I was very happy with the newness and cleanliness of allison meadows. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and seemed to really put care and patient safety first. The meals are hot and cooked by a real chef.
Additionally, a Physical Therapist is available an average of 2.1 minutes per day per resident . The last time this data was collected they cared for at least 73 men and 111 women in a one year period that received Medicare benefits. This number fluctuates with each new resident. Nurses had no idea what kind of medications were dispensed or where they were kept. Managers had no idea who or where the patients were. Staff tried to be friendly but were so overwhelmed and undereducated that they were really just hazards to the patients.
It is obvious that the residents' best interests are always at the center of everything. Long-Term Care is a great option for those who struggle with daily tasks and can no longer be cared for at home due to illness, injury, frailty or other limitations. Under the guidance of an attending physician, Long-Term Care is provided in our communities by licensed nurses, specially-trained health care aides and a full interdisciplinary care team. Our memory care is a self-contained center within our communities. We surround residents with artwork and special personal items from their past to help foster a sense of belonging and cultivate feelings of security. Plants adorn the halls and pets visit frequently.
On May 7 I suffered a severe stroke that paralyzed my left side. As fate would have it, I came to Meadows from Geisinger. Since then I have undergone extensive physical and occupational therapy. Shortly after coming here, I moved to the Meadows Manor. As part of that program, I have extensively studied geriatric care in nursing and personal care homes.
They just didn’t have the capacity to give my mom extra care. They were very attentive while she was there. The dining room was nice, but my mom did fuss about the food a lot.
My mom is kind of a hermit, and they had a lot of trouble getting her out to do the activities they have available. Allisonville Meadows was a very lovely, open facility. The activity areas were easy to walk in and walk out of. The staff seemed very nice, very accommodating, and very caring. I visited two times, and the residents seemed happy. I was really impressed with their programming and what they had to offer the residents.

The clients that live and or stay at this facility where encouraged to be social and participate in as many activities they are able to. The rooms where clean, but looked very institutional instead of warm and inviting. My guess is that they are going for a modern look. I don't believe the elderly population really will notice the modern art and contemporary furniture. My grandparents would probably welcomed a more at home environment. I had already become familiar with Allisonville Meadows Assisted Living because a friend of mine was there for several months.
